ABOUT ME

-Short Biography

Igor Paspalj was born in 1981 in Zagreb, Croatia (EU). He started playing guitar and practicing music in early ages with a private teachers, after which he began to study classical music theory. After finishing primary and secondary music school, he was accepted to Academy of Arts in Banja Luka (BIH), and finished 4 years curriculum in 3 years (2005), with honors, and highest average marks in university. In 2009. he obtained Master degree in Music Theory and Harmony with analysis. His fields of expertise are primarily Acoustic and Electric guitar, Music Theory, Harmony with Analysis, Counterpoint and Analysis of Musical Work. He also published several science papers in domain of Music theory.
            As a performer and studio musician, Igor have more than 25 years of experience, playing and recording guitars with numerous artists from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia. He also published one solo instrumental guitar album – Igor Paspalj “Gravity” for “Moonwolf Entertainment Group” from Holland in 2010, and performed on numerous projects in BIH, Croatia and Serbia. In prestigious world-wide guitar competition “Guitar Idol’’ 2009 he made it to the online finals 2 years in a row, and got highest reviews from around the globe. Before moving to Dubai, UAE, in 2014, Igor was a full-time teacher at Academy of Arts, University of Banja Luka, BIH. In Dubai, Igor is working in American School of Dubai as a guitar teacher and instructor, and playing  in Abu Dhabi and Dubai with huge variety of bands from all over the world.

At beginning of 2020, Igor became artist for prestigious company JTC Guitar, one of the largest and best known online instructional company for guitar. He’s published 3 masterclasses and variety of packs for the company above, playing the collaborations with some of the best known names in industry (Andy James, Justin Derrico, Marco Sfogli, etc)

2020 was also Year in which Igor got nominated and won prestigious award “Guitarist of The Year” 2020 from “Guitar World” and “Guitar Player” magazines.
